Nicole Aitkins is an elementary teacher turned non-profit board chair. She has had the honor of teaching Head Start and lower Elementary students; this has been the starting point for wanting to start music programs throughout Maryland. She believes that students need to have an arts education to really thrive and to be able to express themselves in ways they haven’t even imagined. Spark allows students to do this, because it gives them the space that they need to be creative, collaborate with other students, and eventually perform their music for the people in their lives. Nicole’s education background gives her the ability to bring the instruction to another level while allowing all the students an outlet to create and grow.
